wHY VANGUARD?
I didn’t set out to start my own security company.
For more than 20 years, I built my career working for established firms—learning the industry from the ground up, earning trust, managing teams, and protecting people, property, and reputations. I saw what worked, what didn’t, and—most importantly—what was missing.
What stayed with me most over those years wasn’t just the operations or the protocols. It was the relationships. The clients who needed more than a checklist. The communities that deserved consistency. The businesses that wanted to feel known, not just serviced.
Too often, I watched large companies treat security like a transaction—rotating staff, impersonal communication, and a one-size-fits-all approach. Clients became account numbers. Officers became interchangeable. And the human side of security—the trust, the accountability, the presence—got lost.
I knew there was a better way.
That’s why I started Vanguard Tactical Security.
I wanted to build something more personal. A company where relationships come first—where clients know who they’re calling, who’s protecting their space, and who stands behind the service. A company where communication is direct, decisions are thoughtful, and every client gets a solution tailored to their specific needs—not a generic package.
Being a smaller company isn’t a limitation—it’s our strength.
It means we’re agile. We respond faster. We adapt quickly. We stay connected. Our clients aren’t passed through layers of management—they work directly with leadership. That level of accessibility builds trust, and trust is everything in this industry.
It also means we invest more in our people. We know our team members by name, we support their growth, and we hold them to a higher standard—because they represent not just a company, but a commitment.
As a woman and minority-owned business, this journey carries even deeper meaning for me.
I’ve spent my career in spaces where leadership didn’t always look like me. I understand the importance of representation, of breaking barriers, and of bringing diverse perspectives into industries that need them. That perspective shapes how we operate—with integrity, inclusivity, and a genuine understanding of the communities we serve.
It’s not just about ownership—it’s about impact.
I take pride in building a company that reflects resilience, discipline, and opportunity. A company that proves excellence isn’t defined by size or legacy, but by consistency, professionalism, and heart.
Security, for me, has never been just a job.
It’s a responsibility I take seriously. It’s about creating safe environments where people can work, live, and grow without worry. It’s about being present, prepared, and proactive. It’s about doing the right thing—even when no one is watching.
Starting this company wasn’t just a career move—it was a purpose-driven decision.
To do things better.
To serve people more personally.
To lead with integrity.
And to build lasting relationships—one client at a time.
